Printed under the close supervision of artist Rameshwar Broota, this limited edition print is individually numbered and signed by the artist in pencil and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

This work is based on a canvas painting by the artist. Broota is known best for his large scale paintings made using a unique technique – first applying multiple layers of paint in monochromatic shades on a canvas, then meticulously scraping the surface with a blade to reveal the layers beneath in order to create the image. Broota’s works often evoke a certain unease and discomfort with one’s own body/skin/presence. The overpowering presence of male bodies in his work, both muscular and emaciated, act as testaments to the passage of time, and its physical and psychological effect.
