Akbar Padamsee | Untitled (Nude I) | Photograph | 22" x 33" | 2004
Signed, Limited Edition of 9
A prominent modernist integral to the fabric of Indian art, Akbar Padamsee’s pioneering spirit led him to experiment with a wide range of media, including digital print-making. His photographs, like his paintings, centre on an interest in the expression of structure, found in his exploration of landscapes, nudes and portraits, in which the artist is more concerned with construction than contemplation. His human protagonists, however, embody an arresting quality, imbuing them with a spirit that elevates a formal study into a dialogical oeuvre.
