This book was published in conjunction with the titled exhibition at Vadehra Art Gallery, New Delhi in March 2008, curated by Sunil Gupta and Radhika Singh. An excerpt of the show was also exhibited at Grosvenor Vadehra, London from February to March 2008.

The exhibition is considered an important survey of the breadth of Indian photography at the time, and included over 100 photographs by 86 artists.

The works are divided into the following sections: The Lure of the Local, Whose Body is it Anyway?, Portraiture, What Can a Woman Do With a Camera?, Politics of Identity, Performance as Photograph, The Archive and Interiorscapes.

Images are accompanied by biographical notes.
